Transform the look of your scalp in Jericho NY
Concealers have been used for decades by men and women to camouflage their balding and thinning scalps, as well as the linear scar left behind in the donor area for those who had the traditional FUT (Follicular Hair Transplant) or strip procedure.
What is Scalp Micropigmentation?
How does Scalp Micropigmentation work?
A specialized cosmetic tattoo instrument with a handpiece that utilizes reciprocating needling is used to apply the stippled pattern between the pores of the scalp. The dot size must be small, around 0.1mm as seen from the surface of the skin.
Similar to the process of getting a tattoo, tiny needles are used to add colored pigment to the scalp using a computer controlled micro fine needles in triple clusters to achieve the guaranteed consistency of results required.
How long does the procedure take?
Scalp Micropigmentation is a time-consuming process that usually requires three sessions, approximately 2-3 weeks apart in order to achieve optimal results. A minimum of 2-4 hours. depending on which treatment is needed. Strip scars require blending in the scalp both above and below the scar, so the magnitude of the work increases beyond the scar itself. If blending is not done, the treated scar may stand out significantly.
Session one tells us how the patient’s body reacts to the inks and how well the scar tissue responds to the technique and color being used.
In session two, we analyze the results from session one in terms of color acceptance and ink depth into the scar tissue. The process is repeated while making adjustments based on what we learned from session one. The density of the stippling is increased, while the color of the ink and depth of its placement may also be altered, if necessary.
In session three, the patient will undergo a technical refinement of the process to ensure that the final result is a custom tailored camouflage of the scar with natural blending into the patient’s existing hair to make the process appear essentially undetectable.
Unfortunately, there is no short-cut to this process, if you attempt to try to do the Scalp Micropigmentation in less time, the results may be severely compromised.
What are the options for Scalp Micropigmentation?
